Re: Backpacking
I have several different packs that I use.

Everything from the hunting day pack to the gone for a week or so pack. I have a "catquiverIV" that didnt work as a quiver for me so I took the quiver part out and use it as a hunting day pack. Its seen its fair share of country and critters.
I have a big old cumbersome frame pack that will comfortably hold over 100lbs of crap for the long outings, and a couple of packs that fit right inthe middle of the 2 and are used for the couple of days type hunts.
I have a cheap little 2 season one person tent that I use here in AZ cause it either hot , hot, hot, or raining.. and havent been out galavanting in any other places enough to buy anything else.
and for the times when it gets cold when I'm out I have a decent bedroll. Mostly the bed roll gets used as a sleeping pad but sometimes it drops below 70 degrees and I have to climb into it. LOL..

Re: Backpacking

Seems your game is cooked even be for you get it home...  It is that warm around the begining of the season here where I hunt by the end ot the season the temps will have dropped about 35-40 degrees during the day.

I see you have packs for evey type of hunt one can think of

Re: Backpacking
During the Sept. archery deer hunts its still upin the 90-100degree range. So meat care is paramount. Got to get them skinned and cooling as fast as possible. No waiting for the next day to track them down. If you make a bad shot you dont have the "wait for 12+ hours" luxory. you have to go after them even if it means pushing them sometimes. Not the best scenario in the world, but if you want to save the meat its neccessary. That also means at least quartering and usually deboning right after cleaning. So good shots are also mandatory. Its quite disheartening to make a hit then not find it within a couple of hours. The coues I stuck back in January is a classic example. When I hit him forward I resigned myself to bouts of severe heart-burn and other stress induced GI disorders for several days after. The only thing that made those symptoms go away was hearing that he had been seen 2 weeks later. Still up and kicking, and otherwise just find.

Got to love the heat. LOL..
